Plan is for accreditation before first class graduates

Pope John Paul II High School is currently engaged in a thorough examination of its curricular and non-curricular offerings, governance, policies, and procedures. This “self-study” year will produce reams of material that will be reviewed by an evaluation team.

The team is scheduled to visit the school October 17-20, 2010.

“I am confident and fully expect that the visiting team will see what we already know and produce a positive report leading to full accreditation during NEASC’s December 2010 meeting,” stated school principal Christopher Keavy.

This would mean that the school would receive full accreditation before the first class of seniors graduate.

“Earning accreditation before our first class graduates would be a significant accomplishment and confirm, without a doubt, that Catholic, college-preparatory education is an exceptional choice for Cape Cod area families,” Keavy concluded.

During the candidacy process, Brown University and NEASC President Ruth J. Simmons joined with other officers of the Association in offering Pope John Paul II High School sincere congratulations on accomplishing candidacy so early in the school's history. Additionally, William M. Bennett, Director of the Commission, commended the school for “developing a sustainable plan that embraces all the recommended standards in the accreditation process.”
